Lake Local Schools featured in school safety story

National school safety expert Amy Klinger, of Educator’s School Safety Network, was asked by reporter Chris Welch with Scripps News Network out of Denver, for examples of schools being proactive in school safety. Lake Local Schools was one of the two examples (Licking Valley being the other) in the state of Ohio she shared as schools being proactive and on right path. On Tuesday May 22nd Chris visited our campus to observe our morning routine and our approach to school safety.

Each one of our staff members should be commended for consistently working towards keeping our students and buildings a safe place.

The story can be seen be visiting the following link:  https://www.thedenverchannel.com/the-now/one-schools-getting-to-know-you-approach-to-preventing-a-school-shooting

Information about communication during incidents

As an overview of the school district’s communication process, during an incident like the lock down on February 26th, 2018:

Lake Local School’s staff understand when our buildings go into lock down, or a similar type of incident, that parents may be alerted by receiving messages from their children.

Our practice in such a situation is to ensure our students’ safety and to address the situation at hand.  Once we are in the position to alert parents with pertinent information we will do so through our normal means of dispersing that information.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact the district office at 419-661-6677

On Friday, October 14th, Students in Action will hold a PINK OUT Tackle for a Cure event at the home football game!  All proceeds will go directly to Kathleen Fincher in her fight against stage 4 breast cancer.
Come to the game in all your pinkness!  Shirts can be ordered at:
Our code is FLYERS (in all caps).  We are directly competing against Eastwood for the most funds raised and the most pink – so show your support and your Flyer pride!
We will also have a Pink Swag booth in case you need a little more pink.  You can purchase bandanas, pins, stickers, whistles, and other pinkalicious items to make our side of the field the pinkest.
