July 8, 2020 Update

July 8, 2020 update:
Good morning.
A group of approximately 20 parents met with school administrators, board members, and union leaders to discuss our plans for the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. Tonight the board of education will have further discussion on the matter at its workshop after a brief board meeting.
In the next ten days we will have an outline ready for the public. There are still details to work out but there will be two options for kids this fall. The first option is to have students attend classes on campus. We intend to implement as many of the guidelines suggested by the Ohio Department of Education as we can in a practical manner. Parents who do not feel comfortable sending their children back to school can choose an online option that will be monitored by staff from our district and still allow the kids to be Lake students. The details of both plans will be explained in full when we release the entire set of guidelines in the next week and a half.
We know that, as a district, flexibility and communication are going to be very important as we navigate these next several months. We ask for the same in return.
