Lake Local Schools looks to fill Board of Education Vacancy

The Lake Local Schools Board of Education seeks applicants to fill the unexpired term of board member Brad Delventhal, who is resigning effective July 1, 2018.

The board will begin interviewing candidates soon and must name a replacement within 30 days of the resignation.

Mr. Delventhal joined the board in 2010 and is reluctantly resigning because he is moving out of the district. During Mr. Delventhal’s time on the board, the district experienced many successes in different areas including but not limited to long term financial stability, facility upgrades, and unprecedented student achievement.

According to Superintendent Jim Witt, “Mr. Delventhal’s friendly and outgoing personality was a huge asset to our district and to our students. Brad and his family are life-long Flyers and he will continue to be active and supportive of our schools and programs.”

Those interested in serving on the Lake Local Schools Board of Education should contact Sheri Materni for an application. Applications can also be downloaded from district’s website, Facebook page, and Twitter account. Applications are due no later than 12:00 p.m. on July 18.

According to Ohio law, people serving on Ohio school boards must be at least 18 years old, district residents and registered voters.

Board President Tim Krugh said the board will review all applications, interview candidates on July 23 and July 24, and appoint a new board member at its July 26, 2018 meeting.
