Dear Lake Community —
A few items to bring to your attention:
- You are all invited to the parade we will be holding on campus on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m. to honor our entire staff. We encourage you to wear Flyer colors, make signs, honk your horns, and wave to our employees as you follow the route that has been mapped out. Please do NOT stop for any reason, do NOT bring gifts for anyone, and respect the social distancing requirements. We want this event to go smoothly and to be a great time for everyone!
- This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. I told our teachers yesterday that they have never been more appreciated than during this crazy time. Please join me in applauding their efforts. Also, to all of you who have been a part of your student’s education since the middle of March, give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. We could not do this without you.
- If your son or daughter is struggling emotionally with the current situation, please reach out to a teacher, counselor, or administrator. We have agencies, who specialize in mental health, that can be of service. Mental illness is a serious and sometimes dangerous situation and we have been very cognizant of a possible spike in the depression, isolation, outbursts, and other symptoms that kids might be experiencing. Please, do not be afraid to contact us and let us help if you suspect something with your child.
- Area superintendents were told yesterday that the Ohio Department of Education will have some sort of plan for the beginning of next year to us in the next few weeks. Once we have that information it will be shared as quickly as we can possibly do so. We understand that parents need time to plan for whatever the school day will look like next year. As a district, we need time as well and school personnel from all over Ohio have been sharing our need for information with the people who matter in Columbus.
Have a great day!
