Welcome!
The mission of the Lake Local School District Transportation Department is to provide safe, efficient and professional transportation service for our students while supporting the district's educational mission. We employ 21 highly trained and state certified drivers who safely transport over 1200 students daily.
While establishing bus routes, careful consideration is given to the safety of our children as well as the most proficient use of our resources. To maintain our excellent safety record, we require our students to obey all state and local policies regarding school bus safety. In addition, our drivers participate in pre-service and in-service training and our preventative maintenance program ensures our buses are inspected and maintained on a regular basis to provide for the highest level of mechanical safety.
The decision to delay or close school for inclement weather is typically made by 6:00 am. The announcement will be broadcast on local radio and television stations, as well as over our Honeywell Instant Alert system.
