Lake Middle School

Message from the principal:

Dear Lake Middle School Community:

We are excited to start the 2019-2020 school year! It is wonderful to have our halls filled with students and staff smiling, laughing, and chatting as they walk to their classes.

Lake Middle School is home to approximately 420 students in grades 5-7. The middle school years are an exciting time when students embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. Each year will provide important transitions and the acquisition of new skills that will enhance each student’s ability to apply learning in many ways.

We look forward to another successful year at Lake Middle School, and we hope that you do as well. Please feel free to contact me at kbeard@lakeschools.org or 419-661-6660 with any questions or comments.

Go Flyers!

Katie Beard, Principal

Emergency Information:

Lake Middle School, along with Lake Athletic Department are using Final Forms to collect beginning of the year and emergency medical information.  After you enter your information the first time it is our hope that the process is more simple and streamlined for additional students and in subsequent years.

The directions to create an account were mailed to your homes. If you cannot find your instructions, you can access them HERE.

Calling Students in Absent

Lake Local Schools uses the Safe Arrival system to help track students and notify parents when a student is absent.  You must report your student’s absence the Safe Arrival system prior to 7:45 the day of absence to avoid being called by the system.  I highly encourage all parents to authenticate their account so you can use the School Messenger app. The app is very easy to use, especially if you have more than one student in more than one building on campus.  The letter with School Messenger details can be found under the documents and forms link.

MS Drop Off/Pick Up

If you drop off or pick up your student before and/or after school, we need your help.  With so many cars moving in the parking lot, safety becomes a concern for everyone.

In the morning, please pull as far forward as possible before your student exits the vehicle. Please have them exit on the sidewalk side of the car. This allows as many cars as possible to pull up and ensures the safety of your students.

In the afternoon, please pull into a parking spot. Students can come out to your vehicles.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE CURB IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING OR IN THE MAIN DRIVE.  This limits the ability of other drivers to safely enter and exit the parking lot.

Grade Cards Online

In an effort to conserve resources we have tried to do more and more online.  Parents have the ability to follow their student’s grade online at all times through the PowerSchool parent portal.  You can find the link to this under the parent tab on the district website. If you cannot access your account, please contact the office.
